Account Opening Steps
Below is a brief overview of the account-opening process. Detailed instructions, resources, and the electronic DAF application are available in the iGiftFund Advisor Portal.
The electronic DAF application is available through the iGiftFund Advisor Portal along with detailed account-opening instructions and resources to guide you through the process.
Review/share our DAF Program Description and Guidelines with your client before beginning the application.
Once submitted, your client(s) will receive the application electronically for signature. The account-opening process is not complete until all required signatures have been received.
Establish the investment account with your custodian using Independent Charitable Gift Fund as the legal account owner. You can request the most current Corporate Documents Packet and Officer Information below.
Important: Use Independent Charitable Gift Fund as the entity name on all investment account paperwork, as it is the legal owner of the DAF assets.
Do not use iGiftFund or “FBO [Fund Name].”
Because the DAF name will not appear in the investment account title, please include the DAF name and fund number in the subject line of the e-packet.
Detailed investment account-opening instructions are available in the Advisor Portal.
Corporate Packet last updated: 9.1.2026
Once the investment account is established, fund the account with your client’s charitable contribution and email iGiftFund’s Fiscal Team so the contribution can be properly identified and posted to the DAF.
Before you begin: Review our DAF Program Description and Guidelines with your client for information about contribution and grant minimums, eligible and ineligible grantees, administrative fees, succession planning, and other important program details.
